Privacy Policy

Applies to the BreakLoop macOS app published by Latilus (Zoran Jambor, Croatia).

Short version: BreakLoop runs on your Mac to block websites you choose. Destination checks and usage stats stay on your device (and optionally in your iCloud account). We do not operate an analytics backend for BreakLoop, we do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.

1. Who we are

BreakLoop is provided by Latilus, obrt za računalne usluge, vl. Zoran Jambor, Martinska 12, 40300 Mursko Središće, Croatia. Contact: info@latilus.com.

2. What BreakLoop does

BreakLoop is a focus tool. With your approval it installs a system Network Extension (content filter) so it can allow or block network connections to domains you configure (for example social or video sites), according to limits and schedules you set.

3. Data BreakLoop processes

Depending on how you use the app, BreakLoop may process:

Block list & settings — categories, domains, limits, schedules, challenge-delay preferences, and similar configuration you enter.
Network destinations (on device) — hostnames of connections evaluated against your rules so the filter can allow or block them and update usage (time / opens / blocked attempts).
Usage & stats — aggregated counters and daily history used to show your progress inside the app.
Optional iCloud sync — if you enable iCloud Sync, settings and stats are stored in your iCloud Documents container so they can sync across your Macs signed into the same Apple Account.
Notifications — if you grant permission, local notifications about limits (processed by Apple’s notification system on your device).

BreakLoop does not require an account with Latilus. We do not collect payment card data inside the app for this product surface described here.

4. Where data is stored

On your Mac — primarily under a BreakLoop shared folder used so the user-facing app and the system filter extension can read the same policy and usage files, plus optional App Group / Application Support fallbacks.
In your iCloud — only if you turn on iCloud Sync; that data is governed by Apple’s iCloud terms and your Apple Account.
Not on Latilus servers — BreakLoop does not upload your browsing destinations or usage stats to Latilus for analytics, advertising, or profiling.

5. Network Extension & what we do not do

The filter inspects connection metadata needed to match your rules (such as hostname / Server Name Indication for HTTPS). It is not a remote VPN operated by Latilus. Traffic is not routed through our servers.

An optional transparent proxy path may exist to show an in-tab pause page for sites you already chose to block. When that path is used, it is limited to presenting BreakLoop’s pause experience locally — not to provide general web proxying, anonymity, or interception of unrelated traffic for Latilus.

6. Local certificates (HTTPS pause pages)

If you use HTTPS in-tab pause pages, BreakLoop may create a local certificate authority (“BreakLoop Block Page CA”) and certificates for blocked hostnames on your Mac. Private keys remain on your device with restricted file permissions. Trusting that CA in Keychain Access is an explicit step you control. Without trusting it, blocked HTTPS connections are closed and BreakLoop can still show its native pause window. These certificates are for showing BreakLoop’s own pause page on domains you configured — not for Latilus to read your general HTTPS content.

7. Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not share BreakLoop usage or destination data with advertising networks. Data may be processed by Apple as part of macOS, Network Extension, notifications, or iCloud when you use those features.

If you email us for support, we process the content of that correspondence to respond.

8. Retention & deletion

On-device data remains until you delete it (for example by removing settings, clearing stats where the app allows, or deleting the app and its data). iCloud copies follow your iCloud Sync setting and Apple’s retention for your account. You can turn off iCloud Sync in BreakLoop Settings at any time.

9. Children

BreakLoop is a general productivity tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a Latilus account (the app does not use Latilus accounts).

10. International users

Latilus is based in Croatia (EU). On-device processing happens on your Mac. Optional iCloud storage is provided by Apple according to your Apple Account region and Apple’s documentation.

11. Changes

We may update this policy when the product changes. The effective date at the top will be revised. Material changes will be reflected in the app’s store listing privacy information where required.
